Alder develops rental housing communities designed to be genuinely lived in — and to perform for the partners who help build them.

We focus on durable, demographically-driven demand across three complementary segments: active adult, conventional multifamily, and build-to-rent. Within each, we apply the same discipline — rigorous underwriting, well-located sites in supply-constrained submarkets, conservative capital structures, and hands-on execution from land acquisition through stabilization.

What sets Alder apart is ownership. We don't hand our projects off. The same team that underwrites a deal manages its construction and oversees its lease-up, which means accountability at every stage and alignment with the investors who trust us with their capital.

To date, we've developed approximately 1,600 units across eight communities, with an active pipeline of additional opportunities under evaluation.

Tim O'Hanlon

Co-Founder & Partner

Tim leads Alder's development, capital, and investment strategy. Before founding Alder, he advised institutional and corporate clients at McKinsey & Company, where he built the analytical and underwriting discipline that now anchors Alder's approach to every deal.

A former U.S. Navy fighter pilot and TOPGUN graduate, Tim brings the same standards of preparation and execution to real estate that defined his time in the cockpit. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech and an MBA from Harvard Business School — and, fittingly, runs the firm from a hangar on a North Texas airfield.

Bart Tinsley

Co-Founder & Partner

Bart leads Alder's development execution and construction, and drives the firm's product development and land pipeline. He brings more than 30 years in construction and development, having delivered thousands of units across the lifecycle from ground-up development through operations.

A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Bart was selected for the elite Marine Security Guard Battalion and served at U.S. embassies in Senegal, Hungary, the Netherlands, and Chad. The same discipline, attention to detail, and ownership of every outcome now defines how he runs construction at Alder.

Brittany Barclay

Senior Associate

Brittany supports Alder's development, capital, and investment activities, contributing across underwriting, deal execution, and investor coordination. She joined Alder from Hines, where she helped manage a 940,000-square-foot Class A commercial portfolio in Dallas. She holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas, with minors in Marketing and Hospitality Management.

Carter Moore

Project Coordinator

Carter oversees construction and project delivery, supporting Alder's development execution from initial site assessment and due diligence on new developments, through construction quality control and final punch list management. He also supports ongoing property management and holds a BA in Political Science and Government from the University of Arkansas.
